YSL Braided Green Cabochon Chain Necklace

222.00

Braided brass chain with logo clasp and green glass cabochon inlaid in brass and surrounded by black enamel. Not quite a choker but hits close to the neck. Yves St. Laurent began as a designer making clothing for his mother and sisters. He won awards as a student designer and his drawings gained the attention of the editor of French Vogue who introduced him to Christian Dior. In 1957, after Dior's untimely death, St. Laurent took over the fashion house at only 21 years old. After getting fired from Dior he began his own house in 1960 with then partner Pierre Bergé with funds from American businessman and philanthropist J. Mack Robinson.
