A very simple piece that would be a perfect workplace garment. Composed of linen and in a deep magenta color. Features four cream colored decorative buttons down the front. There are also front pockets, darting and shoulder pads. Zips down the back. Fully lined and hand stitched. A beautiful piece-1980's does 1960's. Oscar de la Renta was born in the Dominican Republic and educated in Spain, originally for painting. His mother's family were prominent members of Dominican society and could trace their roots back to the origins of the Island. Oscar apprenticed with famed Spanish designer Balenciaga after gaining the attention of the wife of the US Ambassador to Spain who commissioned him to make a dress for her daughter. After working with Balenciaga he went to Paris to work with Lanvin.
