1980's Claude Montana Oversized Collar Linen Shirt

Gray linen blouse with asymmetric hidden buttons. Collar is oversized and also asymmetric with the right side being longer than the left. Long sleeved with four mother of pearl buttons at the cuff of each sleeve. Seam running down the back of the shirt. Lightweight enough for a summer night. Perfect for nighttime beach going. Claude Montana started as a jewelry designer creating his goods with papier mache and rhinestones. From there he began working in leather. His first fashion show was in 1976. In 1981 he released his first men's line in 1981. He focused on color and material and avoided complicated detailed pieces. Alexander McQueen modeled many of his pieces after Montana designs as did a slew of other designers in the early 2000's as Montana enjoyed a resurgence of success years after his business went bankrupt.
